Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team Australian update/recap
Hey Aussies it’s your boy Teki reporting live from the awesomest hotel suite in Sydney. Orgasmic and I have been doing a lot of chillin, eating, working and a bit of touring in australia for the last week or so, and we still have 10 days to go so i figured i would hit You guys up with an update.
We had an awesome time in Brisbane, where our dear friend Samuel Beck of Lick it took us to see this amazing exhibition by Ron Mueck. I remember when i was a kid Art was all about boring paintings and random stuff no one cared about, but now it’s the year 2010 and Art has CHANGED in a MASSIVE way yo, nowadays it’s all about BIG STUFF (as we might have talked about before on this blog), going to the museum is a trip, they just make everything super big and it’s Art and it’s dope. So that’s what Ron Mueck is all about, making everything big, people, babies, chicken, you name it. The fine art connoisseur Orgasmic was pretty much feeling the Art vibe that day do you know what i am saying. ART!

On saturday we went to Newcastle to perform at our awesome friend Kato’s party. Kato is the absolute don of Newcastle and his party was unbelievable, people were totally jumping on speakers dancing like crazy and we had a great time. On the next day Kato’s dad drove us to Sydney. This is a picture of Kato and his mega awesome 2 Live Crew tee shirt-wearing dad.

Speaking of Kato, we are about to meet him to do a DJ set and co-host his radio show (Sunset, also hosted by the amazing Anna Lunoe) on FBI 94.5 later today (thursday) so if you are in town make sure you tune in, and if you’re not, try checking out http://www.fbiradio.com . We are going to play HEAPS of exclusives so you won’t regret it.
Speaking of radio shows, we also did this 1 hour mix for national Australian radio Triple J’s “mix up” show to be broadcasted on saturday night around 9 pm. Tons of exclusives in this one as well, and Renaissance Man are also doing a guest mix that same week so make sure you check it on the radio or on the web.
A little update on shows:
The Perth show has been moved from Shape Bar to www.dorciafridays.com so make sure you don’t get confused. Also they are kind of announcing us as “special secret international guests” but it’s really us.
The Melbourne, We Love Sounds Sydney and Gold coast shows are still in full effect (the date of our Sydney side show had changed since our last announcement ages ago) and they will be more bangin than ever. Check out the video the United Colours crew made to promote our Sydney show at World bar:
a little reminder of the remaining dates:
4.6 - Dorcia Fridays - Perth
11.6 - Scatterblog party at the Espy - Melbourne
12.6 - We Love Sounds festival (should be Forum tent) - Sydney
12.6 - United Colours - The World Bar - Sydney
13.6 - The Ruby Tramp - Gold Coast
shout out to Anand @ Fuzzy, Marc Bouchard, Bridget Mac, Wax Motif, Kato, Anna, Samuel, Ajax, Gus and the whole Bang gang fam for making this aussie trip AMAZING.
